Five-time world champions, Golden Eaglets of Nigeria continued their preparation for the WAFU-B U17 Championship by defeating Simonben Academy 4-0 at the FIFA Goal Project pitch inside the MKO Abiola National Stadium, Abuja on Saturday.

It was an exciting affair in the first half with the Eaglets going into the break with a lone goal, despite creating more chances that would have resulted in more goals. The resistance of the visitors from Kaduna was completely broken in the second half when the Coach Eboboritse Uwejamomere-tutored side ran riot scoring three additional goals to end the tie 4-0.

In the evening of the same day, the Golden Eaglets welcomed Galadima FC of Abuja to the same venue in another friendly game. The Eaglets laboured laboriously to dislodge Galadima FC, but their opponents proved to be difficult to be subdued, as the game ended goalless.

This year’s WAFU-B U17 Championship is slated for 4th – 17th October in Ouagadougou, the capital city of Burkina Faso.
