The Transmission Company of Nigeria, (TCN) Port Harcourt Region has engaged communities in Alaoji, Aba to curb vandalism and Right of Way encroachment on transmission towers. The sensitization programme took place on August 28, 2026.
Speaking at the event, AGM Aba Sub-Region, Engr. Juliet Ndi Ukomadu condemned the repeated vandalism of earthing cables and tower members, noting that it causes multiple tower collapses.
Also, the NSCDC representative, Mr. Etang Edike assured that six armed personnel and a patrol vehicle are on standby to arrest vandals. He urged residents to report suspicious activities.
Meanwhile, the Traditional Ruler of Ekiti Akoma Ngwa, HRH Eze Elder Promise Oguibe, gave a firm promise that the community will work with TCN to protect power transmission installations.
TCN appeals to all host communities to safeguard power infrastructure for stable electricity supply.
