The Nigerian Senior Women’s Volleyball Team on Wednesday defeated Ghana’s Women Volleyball Team 3-2 in the ongoing 2026 African Senior Nations Volleyball Championship in Kenya.

The Nigerian team came top after 5 sets, defeating the Ghanaians in three sets.

The dramatic five-set encounter ended 25-21, 21-25, 25-11, 11-25, 18-16.

Nigeria got the early win in the opening set 25-21 before Ghana responded with a 25-21 win in the second set to level contest.

Nigeria came back stronger in the third set and defeated Ghana 25-11, needing just one more win to seal victory.

But the Ghanaians remained resolute and forced the game to fifth set, winning the fourth set 25-11.

The tie finally ended in Nigeria’s favour. The women held on and edged Ghana 18-16, securing a crucial 3-2 victory.

The victory keeps Nigeria in second position in Group C as they prepare to face Cameroon in the final group match on Thursday.
