In a goodwill message, Yahaya congratulated Muslims in Gombe and across the world, urging them to reflect on the life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and emulate his virtues of compassion, humility, tolerance, generosity and selflessness.

The governor said the significance of Maulud should go beyond commemoration, stressing that Muslims should translate the Prophet’s teachings into their daily actions, relationships and interactions.

“As we commemorate this great day, let us continue to emulate the noble Messenger of Allah in our actions, interactions and relationships for the betterment of our society,” he said.

Yahaya said the celebration should strengthen faith and promote unity, peace, progress and stability, urging citizens to contribute to building a peaceful and prosperous society.

He called on residents to remain patriotic, hopeful and optimistic about the future, assuring them of his administration’s continued commitment to programmes aimed at transforming the state’s socio-economic landscape and improving citizens’ wellbeing.

The governor particularly urged youths and other celebrants to observe the festivities peacefully and responsibly, while remaining law-abiding and adhering to established protocols governing public celebrations.

He also stressed the importance of tolerance and mutual respect among the diverse people of Gombe State, irrespective of ethnic, religious or other differences, urging citizens to make peaceful coexistence a shared responsibility.

Yahaya called on the people to safeguard the peace and tranquillity enjoyed in the state by avoiding acts and utterances capable of undermining the prevailing harmony, saying the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) remained a guide towards a more united and prosperous society.
