Charles Asmah Elected NPP UK First Vice Chairman

A legal practitioner, Charles Asmah, has been elected First Vice Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) UK Branch after securing a decisive victory in the branch’s 2026 executive elections.

Mr. Asmah polled 452 votes, representing 68.90 percent of the valid votes cast, to beat Dr. Emmanuel Mensah Asiedu, who obtained 161 votes (24.54 percent), and Colin Kofi Agyeman, who garnered 43 votes (6.55 percent).

The elections, which covered all 16 chapters of the NPP UK Branch, also produced new executives for several key positions, according to results issued by the branch’s Communications Directorate.

Andy Owusu emerged Chairman with 266 votes, representing 40.36 percent of the valid votes. Richmond Mensah followed with 201 votes (30.50 percent), while Isaac Appiah-Kubi secured 192 votes (29.14 percent).

The Second Vice Chairman position was closely contested, with Otuo Acheampong edging Afia Animwaa Agyemang by a single vote. Mr. Acheampong polled 292 votes (44.31 percent), while Ms Agyemang obtained 291 votes (44.16 percent) and Mark Cudjoe received 76 votes (11.53 percent).

Kojo Amoako-Wiredu was elected Secretary after receiving 345 votes, representing 52.51 percent of valid votes, while Abena Mensah won the Treasurer position with 379 votes (57.77 percent).

Thomas Oheneba Boakye secured the Organiser position with 355 votes (53.95 percent), defeating King Kwabiah Acheampong, who polled 303 votes (46.05 percent).

For the Women’s Organiser position, Patricia Achiaa won with 386 votes (58.57 percent).

Jeffrey Dasebre Oppong Adomako was elected Youth Organiser after polling 292 votes (44.31 percent), followed by Roberta Baaba Pobee with 278 votes (42.19 percent) and Kwaku Ampratwum Djarbeng with 89 votes (13.51 percent).

Ayumah Issah was acclaimed as Nasara Organiser.

The Communications Officer position went to Michael Ampadu Emotian, who obtained 351 votes (53.42 percent). George Odoom polled 165 votes (25.11 percent), while Thomas Owusu secured 141 votes (21.46 percent).

The Deputy Secretary position remained pending, with Marlene Boateng listed as the candidate for the position.
