Asante Kotoko has agreed a two-year deal with an Ivorian attacker Eric Gbetta as the club continues to strengthen its squad ahead of the 2026/27 season.
The 21-year-old winger joins the Porcupine Warriors after gaining experience in Oman, where he featured for Ibri Club and later joined Al-Wahda SC. Capable of operating on either flank, Gbetta is known for his pace, dribbling ability and attacking movement.
Gbetta spent part of the 2024/25 campaign with Ibri Club in the Oman Professional League. His most notable scoring contribution came on May 3, 2025, when he opened the scoring in the sixth minute against Bahla Club. His goal was recorded as a direct corner, a testament to his technical ability and threat from dead-ball situations.
Gbetta was among the foreign players named in head coach Eric Tinkler’s 30-man squad for Kotoko’s pre-season tour in Accra and has finally been registered by the Porcupine Warriors for the upcoming season, ghanasportspage.com understand.
Asante Kotoko will be travelling to Berekum to face newly promoted side Debibi United FC in the Ghana Premier League opener on Sunday 6th September, 2026.
