There is a new energy in Techiman North as the District Assembly reports strong gains in both revenue and development delivery. At the Second Ordinary Meeting of the Assembly held in Tuobodom, the District Chief Executive, Johnson Kwabena Adom, announced that the Assembly had exceeded its revenue target for the second quarter of 2026, a performance he said reflects tighter financial discipline and a renewed focus on projects that directly touch everyday lives.
At the heart of the progress is money, and the DCE for Techiman North, Mr. Johnson Kwabena Adom, attributed the strong performance to deliberate reforms.

According to him, the Assembly mobilized GH¢562,936.00 in Internally Generated Funds for the second quarter against a budgeted target of GH¢468,612.60, representing more than 120 percent performance. He noted that this is a sharp improvement over the GH¢349,484.00 collected in the same period last year, driven by stricter revenue monitoring, improved compliance from ratepayers and deliberate steps to plug leakages.
He added that the Assembly also received GH¢3,833,984.13 as its share of the District Assemblies Common Fund for the first quarter, funds which are already being used to meet financial obligations and fund key development programmes.
The improved finances are translating into visible projects on the ground. In the education sector, the Assembly has distributed hundreds of dual desks, mono desks, teachers’ tables and chairs to schools across the District to improve learning conditions and move pupils off bare floors. Construction works are also progressing on classroom blocks in selected communities, while efforts to expand access to potable water are underway with plans to drill and mechanize eleven solar-powered boreholes in communities such as Dampa, Gyebiri, Brentu and Akonkonti.
Roads, which remain a major concern for residents, are also receiving attention. The Assembly confirmed that feasibility studies have been completed for critical routes including the Tuobodom, Aworano and Jama-Tinponim roads. Works are progressing steadily, with the aim of easing movement of people and goods, especially for farming communities that struggle to transport produce during the rainy season.

Speaking to the media after the meeting, the Member of Parliament for Techiman North and Minister for Trade, Industry and Agri-Business, Mrs. Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, reiterated her strong desire to see the constituency fully developed, with roads as a top priority.
She noted that without good roads, development would remain incomplete because farmers cannot access markets and traders cannot move goods efficiently.
The MP said she is actively engaging the Ministry of Roads and Highways and other relevant agencies to fast-track the rehabilitation of deplorable feeder roads across the District.
Mrs. Ofosu-Adjare further stressed that her vision for Techiman North goes beyond roads to include better health facilities, improved school infrastructure, support for women and youth in agribusiness and expanded economic opportunities. She explained that as Trade Minister, she is particularly committed to linking local production to markets and industries, ensuring that farmers and small businesses in Techiman North benefit from value addition and better prices for their produce.
With improved IGF, the release of Common Fund allocations and stronger collaboration between the Assembly and the MP, Techiman North is entering a new phase of development focused on completing ongoing projects and spreading benefits to every corner of the District.
For residents of Tuobodom and surrounding communities, the signal is clear that development is not just promised, but is actively underway.
