The Office of the Registrar of Political Parties (ORPP) has announced 365 short-term job opportunities for county, constituency, and call centre monitors ahead of Kenya’s next electoral cycle.

In a public notice released on Tuesday, August 11, 2026 through MyGov, the ORPP said it is seeking competent and self-motivated individuals to help monitor the activities of political parties during the pre-election, election, and post-election periods.

The positions advertised include 55 County Monitors, 290 Constituency Monitors, and 20 Call Centre Monitors, all to be engaged on short-term contracts.

Key roles

According to the notice, successful candidates will be tasked with overseeing political party activities and ensuring compliance with the Constitution, the Political Parties Act, and the Code of Conduct for Political Parties.

“The successful candidates will monitor the pre-election, election, and post-election activities of political parties, including their compliance with the Constitution, the Political Parties Act, and the Code of Conduct for Political Parties,” the ORPP said.

The office noted that the positions will be based at county, constituency, and headquarters levels, respectively.

How to apply

Interested applicants have been directed to access detailed qualifications and role requirements through the ORPP website and submit applications via the office’s e-recruitment portal.

The ORPP said applications must be received no later than September 1, 2026, at 5.00 p.m.

Successful applicants will also be required to obtain clearance certificates from several government agencies, including the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC), Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), Credit Reference Bureau (CRB), and the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB).

The office emphasized that it is an equal opportunity employer and encouraged women, youth, persons with disabilities, and members of marginalized communities to apply.

“ORPP is committed to implementing the provisions of the Constitution on fair competition and merit and affording equal employment opportunities to all,” the notice stated.

The registrar further warned that canvassing or presenting fake certificates, forged documents, or false information during the recruitment process would lead to automatic disqualification and possible criminal prosecution.

A key requirement in the advertisement is that applicants must be residents of the county or constituency where they intend to work.

The recruitment comes as the ORPP continues preparations for heightened political party oversight activities in the period leading to the 2027 General Election.
