The National Paralympic Committee (NPC) Ghana has sponsored four accredited Media Administrative Officers to provide comprehensive coverage of Team Ghana at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games as part of efforts to promote disability inclusion and raise the profile of para sports.

The four journalists — Michael Obeng (NPC Media), Bill Eshun (Media General), Prince Andrew Dornu Leiku (Graphic Communications Group Ltd) and Theophilus Sampah (Ghana Broadcasting Corporation) depart for Scotland on Monday to report on Ghana’s participation throughout the Games.

Accredited by the Commonwealth Games organisers, they will produce news reports, photographs, videos, interviews and feature stories, while documenting the journey of Ghana’s five-member Paralympic contingent competing in para athletics, para swimming and para powerlifting.

The deployment forms part of NPC Ghana’s Media Administrative Officers Programme, launched in 2025 under the leadership of NPC Ghana and African Paralympic Committee President *Samson Deen*, to improve media coverage and public awareness of disability sport.

Addressing the journalists before their departure, Mr Deen urged them to uphold professionalism and patriotism.

“You are not travelling to Glasgow simply to report results. You are going to tell the stories of courage, sacrifice and determination that define our athletes. Your work should inspire every Ghanaian to appreciate the value of inclusion and recognise the excellence of our Paralympians.”

He also reminded them that Glasgow 2026 is an important step towards the *Los Angeles 2028 Paralympic Games.

“Remain focused, be prepared to sacrifice and continue inspiring our athletes to stay disciplined and target the podium. Glasgow 2026 is not only about medals; it is another important qualification pathway towards the Los Angeles 2028 Paralympic Games.”

NPC Ghana believes the initiative will ensure sustained visibility for para athletes while strengthening Ghana’s preparations for future international competitions.
