Build Hospitals, Not Renaming Airport – Baaba Cann

Baaba Cann

Renowned Entertainment Pundit, Baaba Cann, has lashed out at government for ignoring pressing developmental matters like retooling major hospitals in the country and focusing on irrelevant matters like the renaming of the Kotoka International Airport at the expense of the tax payer.

Speaking on the matters relating to Musician Mzbel, who alleged that her elder sister died after she was unable to secure a bed for treatment at Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, Baaba Cann was of the view that the no bed syndrome could have been a thing of the past if government had focused on retooling hospitals instead of renaming the country’s airport with state resources.

“I remember when it was announced that the country’s airport will be renamed. I sat on the United Show saying it was a waste of money. And one of the reasons I said that was the fact that our hospitals need beds,” she disclosed.

Baaba Cann further indicated that most high-profile individuals in the country are reluctant to speak about the issue, but “this issue of no bed syndrome is not for some people, we will all have our share,” she added.

She also blamed some hospital administration for their deliberate actions to deny patients access to beds for treatments. “I have said it over and over again that in this country we waste resources, let’s use our resources for profitable initiatives for the benefit of citizens,” she added.
