England were left frustrated in Boston as a disciplined Ghana side earned a hard‑fought 0‑0 draw that prevented Thomas Tuchel’s men from sealing early qualification for the knockout stage. The Three Lions controlled possession throughout the first half but struggled to unsettle a compact Black Stars defence, with genuine chances proving scarce.
Ghana grew bolder after the interval and nearly produced a stunning winner when Fatau rounded Jordan Pickford, only for his shot to strike teammate Antoine Semenyo on the line. Ezri Konsa then intervened brilliantly to deny another dangerous break.
Tuchel introduced Bukayo Saka, Marcus Rashford, Eberechi Eze, Morgan Rogers and Nico O’Reilly in search of a breakthrough. Saka forced a superb save from Benjamin Asare, O’Reilly hit the bar, and Harry Kane fired the rebound over before Marc Guehi saw a late effort cleared off the line.
Despite England’s late siege, Ghana’s resilience secured a valuable point and prolonged Group L uncertainty.
