Former president Uhuru Kenyatta and his wife, Margaret Kenyatta, made a rare public appearance together on Sunday, June 21, during a special church event.

The former first couple attended the commissioning Mass of the Catholic Women Association (CWA) at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Murram, where they joined hundreds of faithful in worship.

Since leaving State House in 2022, Uhuru and Margaret have largely kept a low profile, with their joint public appearances mostly limited to family functions and a few high-profile events.

Which event did Uhuru and Margaret Kenyatt attaend?

Photos from the ceremony showed the couple dressed modestly but elegantly. Uhuru wore a dark blue shirt with floral patterns, while Margaret stepped out in a simple, flowing black dress complemented by a matching headscarf.

During the Mass, the pair were seen seated together and fully engaged in the service. At one point, they knelt in prayer alongside other worshippers before later receiving Holy Communion.

The former first couple also took part in the celebrations by presenting a gift to the women who had been commissioned during the ceremony.

Their appearance quickly attracted attention online, with many Kenyans expressing admiration for the couple and praising them for maintaining a humble lifestyle away from the public spotlight.

Others noted how peaceful and relaxed the pair looked as they participated in the church service, while some were delighted to see them together again after months without a major public appearance.
