The Administrator of the Ghana Sports Fund, Dr. David Kofi Mawuvi Wuaku, has described the Black Stars’ participation in the ongoing 2026 World Cup as a powerful opportunity for national unity, urging Ghanaians to put aside their differences and rally behind the national team.

He observed that football has historically served as a unifying force in Ghana, bringing together citizens regardless of political affiliation, ethnicity, religion, or social status.

Dr. Wuaku noted that while the country may be diverse in many respects, moments involving the Black Stars often remind Ghanaians of what they share in common rather than what separates them.

He therefore encouraged citizens across the country and in the diaspora to support the team wholeheartedly as they pursue success on behalf of the nation.

The Ghana Sports Fund Administrator stressed that the spirit of patriotism demonstrated during major sporting events has the potential to strengthen social cohesion and reinforce national identity.

He further appealed to religious institutions and community leaders to continue praying for the team and supporting them throughout the tournament.

Dr. Wuaku expressed optimism that the Black Stars will rise to the occasion and make both Ghana and Africa proud through their performances.
