In line with this commitment, personnel from the Kenya Naval Training College (KNTC) on 12 June 2026 visited Rolandhouse Noor Orphanage in Mtongwe, Mombasa, as part of a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative aimed at supporting vulnerable members of society and enhancing civil-military relations.
The outreach programme was led by the KNTC Sea Instructor, Captain Evanson Mwangi, who emphasized the importance of extending compassion and support to less fortunate members of the community. He noted that such initiatives reflect the Kenya Defence Forces’ commitment to humanitarian affairs and community welfare beyond its core mandate of safeguarding the nation.
During the visit, KNTC personnel donated foodstuffs, clothing, and personal hygiene items, all voluntarily contributed by the soldiers. The team also spent time interacting with the children, encouraging them to remain hopeful and focused on achieving their dreams despite the challenges they face.
The children and caregivers at the orphanage expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Kenya Navy personnel for their kindness, generosity, and compassion. They lauded the initiative for bringing hope and happiness to the children and for demonstrating genuine concern for their welfare.
The Kenya Navy remains steadfast in supporting humanitarian causes and fostering strong partnerships with communities as part of its broader contribution to national cohesion, peace, and sustainable development.
