Angela List

The Founder and CEO of Nguvu Mining Limited, Angela List, is making waves as the new 1st Vice President of the Ghana Chamber of Mines.

Her election at the recent Annual General Meeting of the Chamber in Accra, marked a significant stride in the umbrella body of companies that are  in the forefront of the exploration, production and processing of mineral resources in the country.

Madam List, who holds the singular honour as the Most Outstanding Female Mining Entrepreneur in Africa, operates a chain of companies in West Africa, comprising Adamus Resources Limited, Northern Ashanti Mining Company Limited, Segala Mining Company, Samira Hill Gold Mine and Poura Resources Limited.

She promised to leverage her 25 years of experience in the mining industry to help catapult the Ghana Chamber of Mines to an enviable future.

Madam List reiterated the need for “more women to venture into in the male dominated mining space.”

“After all, what men can do, women can do better. Indeed, the time has come to give a practical meaning to this idiom as far as the mining industry is concerned,” Madam List added.

She said her elevation from 2nd to 1st Vice President of the Ghana Chamber of Mines comes with an additional responsibility to help maximise the dividends of the country’s mineral resources.

“And under no circumstances will I shirk this responsibility,” Madam List emphasised.

Before becoming the CEO of Nguvu Mining Limited, Madam List was the Executive Director of BCM Ghana Limited and BCM International Limited, both mining services instrumental in growing from small businesses to large companies in their countries of operation.

She holds MSc and MBA from Manchester University and BSc (Administration) from the University of Ghana.

The Most Outstanding Female Mining Entrepreneur is also the winner of the 2025 Global Power Female Award, an exclusive honour for the most accomplished business women in the world. The event was on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York, and featured Heads of State and 1st Ladies from all over the world.

At the national level, Madam List has received a number of credible awards, including the Female CEO of the Year in 2023, and the recent Asantehene Award bestowed on her by Otumfuo Osei Tutu II for her trailblazing excellence in Ghana’s mining industry.
