Building Razed in Osogbo, Emergency Responders on

A fire outbreak has occurred at the Old Garage area of Osogbo, Osun State, with emergency responders working to contain the blaze.

Videos circulating online on Sunday confirmed the incident, showing firefighters at the scene as thick smoke billowed from the affected area.

A report from Inside Osogbo stated that the fire broke out within the Old Garage axis, adding: “two filling stations were located close to the scene.”

The platform further urged residents to stay away from the area to allow emergency teams unrestricted access, while calling for additional support for firefighters at the scene.

In a follow-up update about two hours after the fire was first reported, Inside Osogbo said the blaze was still ongoing despite efforts from the Federal Fire Service, Osun State Fire Service, and other emergency responders.

“We appreciate the efforts of the officials of Federal Fire Service, Osun State Fire Service, and other emergency responders for not relenting. We hope that the fire will be totally quenched soon,” the platform said, while advising motorists to use alternative routes.

When contacted, the Osun State Command of the Federal Fire Service confirmed the incident.

“Yes, it is true. The fire investigative department are there,” a watchroom official said.

As of the time of filing this report, there was no official information on the cause of the fire or whether any casualties had been recorded.
