The Full Gospel Churches of Kenya assembly has been thrown into mourning following the death of their General Overseer, Bishop David Macharia’s wife, Reverend Catherine Macharia.

In a statement released by the church, Reverend Catherine passed on May 14, but they did not disclose her cause of death.
When is Bishop David Macharia’s wife’s burial?
“She was a virtuous woman of faith, compassion, humility and unwavering dedication to the service of God. Her passing is a great loss not only to her immediate family but also to the entire church community and all who were privileged to know her,” read the statement.

The church also announced that her requiem service will be held on May 26 at Kunste grounds in Nakuru, and her funeral will be held on May 27 at Sugunoi home grounds in Nakuru.
Her friends, former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and his wife, Pastor Dorcas, led in mourning Reverend Catherine as they shared the impact she had on them.
“Rev. Catherine lived a life of prayer, service to God and humanity. To Bishop Dr David Macharia, please accept deepest condolences from Rev. Dorcas Rigathi and me at this difficult moment. To the full Gospel church members, we too condole with you and share in the pain and grief you bear,” said Gachagua.
Pastor Dorcas shared her disbelief in Reverend Catherine’s passing, and she eulogised her as a “blessed mother with a heart full of compassion”.

In another report, a pastor at the PCEA Tabuga church in Lanet, Nakuru County, was killed after armed suspects stormed into his house within the church compound and stole property before fleeing.
