Keta (V/R), May 20, GNA – Arsenal fans in Keta Municipality of the Volta Region, have praised the team’s achievement after the club clinched the 2025-2026 English Premier League title.
They described the triumph as a source of pride and inspiration for supporters across the world.
Ghana News Agency observed that many supporters donned red and white jerseys and waved flags while singing club anthems late into the night, with many saying the victory brought back memories of past glories and showcased the club’s resilience.
Mr Bright Kafui Sedudzi, a strong Arsenal fan, said that fan clubs, including those in Keta, have organised impromptu street parades, with members hoisting banners and chanting in unison.
“This is a special moment for every Arsenal fan, we have waited and sacrificed for this, 20 years is not easy, but God been so wonderful, we won the trophy again, this call for celebration,” he said.
He said the title win would strengthen community ties among supporters and encouraged youths to take pride in disciplined teamwork and throw more support behind the team to win the upcoming 2025-2026 UEFA Champions League Finals against PSG in Budapest.
He stated that business owners in Keta have also reported a surge in sales of Arsenal merchandise and refreshments as fans flocked to outlets to buy shirts, scarves and memorabilia.
“This win is bringing a lot of wonderful things, everybody is demanding for club paraphernalia after the final whistle and expectation will continue patronage in the days ahead when we win the UCL on the Saturday, May 30.”
Some Youth football coaches in the municipality said the Premier League victory would motivate young players to pursue the sport with greater determination to boost their perseverance and encouragement.
Some older supporters reflected on Arsenal’s journey back to the summit, praising the coaching staff led by Mikel Arteta, players and club management for building a squad capable of sustaining success and victory.
They highlighted the importance of long-term planning, youth development and strategic signings as factors that contributed to the title win and urged the team management to recruit more talented young players for next season and retain the trophy.
GNA, also observed that social media platforms lit up with messages from residents congratulating Arsenal and sharing photos and videos of local celebrations, while jubilation dominated the town, with few voices urged moderation, cautioning against excessive spending on celebrations and reminding younger fans to return to school and work commitments.
As Keta joins millions of supporters worldwide in celebrating Arsenal’s Premier League triumph, local fans said the victory reaffirmed their loyalty and renewed hope for continued success.
Arsenal win the EPL for the first time in 22 years since Arsene Wenger’s invincible in 2004 after Manchester City drew 1-1 with Bournemouth, with City needed all three maximum points to take it to the final day.
