Keta (V/R), Aug. 29, GNA – The Keta Municipal Assembly (KMA) in the Volta Region, has honoured Mr Michael Agbeko Kportie, a revenue collector with the Assembly, as the Best Revenue Collector for the Second Quarter of 2026.
The recognition, presented through the Assembly’s Finance Department, celebrates Mr Kportie’s exceptional dedication and outstanding performance in revenue mobilisation during the period under review.
Mr Wisdom Seade, the Keta Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), indicated that the award was in appreciation of the significant contribution made towards achieving the fiscal goals set by the Assembly for the second quarter of the year.
“Hard work always pays, we need to commend Mr Kportie’s commitment to excellence and exemplary service as truly servant of the Assembly, his performance stood out among his colleagues in the Finance Department,” he said.
He explained that the Best Revenue Collector award forms part of the Assembly’s broader efforts to motivate staff and encourage a culture of hard work and accountability within its revenue mobilisation drive.
He said revenue collection remains a critical component of the Assembly’s ability to finance developmental projects and deliver essential services to residents within the Keta Municipality and beyond.
Mr Seade said: “By publicly recognising outstanding performers such as Mr Kportie, we also hope that this will motivate and inspire other revenue collectors to emulate his example and put in more effort towards meeting and exceeding their targets.”
The Finance Department is expected to continue with its quarterly recognition scheme as a way of sustaining motivation among staff engaged in the Assembly’s revenue generation efforts.
Officials of the Assembly extended their congratulations to Mr Kportie, and described the award as well-deserved recognition for his hard work and dedication to duty.
The KMA, over the years, sought to strengthen its internally generated fund base through improved revenue collection strategies, staff motivation, and enhanced accountability measures.
Management of the Assembly reiterated its commitment to rewarding excellence among its workforce, stressing that such recognitions were part of efforts to build a more efficient and results-driven administration.
The Assembly used the occasion to reaffirm its motto of “Excellence in Service, Commitment to Development,” calling on all staff to draw inspiration from Mr Kportie’s achievement as the Municipality works towards its overall developmental agenda.
Mr Kportie, on his part, pledged to continue the hard work and dedication to improve the development of Keta Municipal Assembly for the best.
Mr Kportie received a certificate and other relevant prizes for his selfless, hard work and dedication toward revenue collection for the development of Keta Municipal Assembly.
