CAF has appointed Namibian referee Negongo Naftal to officiate Ghana’s crucial Group D clash against Senegal at the 2026 U17 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco on Sunday.
The encounter is scheduled to kick off at 16:00 GMT at the Mohammed VI Complex in Rabat, with both sides searching for their first victory of the tournament.
The Black Starlets opened their campaign with a 2-2 draw against Algeria, while Senegal suffered defeat to South Africa in their first match and currently sit bottom of the group.
With qualification hopes already under pressure for both teams, Sunday’s contest is expected to be fiercely competitive, placing additional responsibility on the officiating team to ensure a smooth and fair contest.
CAF confirmed that Naftal will be assisted by Eleyeh Robleh of Djibouti as Assistant Referee One, while Emmanuel Habumugisha has been named Assistant Referee Two.
Zambian officials Hillary Hambada and Nancy Kasitu will serve as the fourth referee and reserve assistant referee, respectively.
The Match Commissioner for the game will be Justin Mumba of Zambia, while Cameroon’s Evarist Menkouande has been appointed referee assessor.
