Assembly Member for the Horticultural Electoral Area in Tema Community Four, Baba Tunde, has expressed displeasure with the Tema Development Corporation (TDC) over the suspension of inner road and drainage construction projects in the community.
The development follows reports of an alleged halt to a project being undertaken by Sky Mount 25 Limited to construct inner roads, a bypass, and drainage systems from the Community 4, 8, and 9 Junction to the Hospital Road.
In an interview with Citi News, Baba Tunde revealed that the Assembly had provided a temporary structure to house the logistics and equipment of the construction firm to facilitate the developmental project.
According to him, TDC halted the project, demolished the temporary structure, and seized equipment being used for the construction works.
“We do not understand why they did that. At the end of the day, we are all in for development and I know very well that TDC over there is also an institution promoting government agenda. Even if they claim the people were not having permit, is that the best way to go?
“They could have even written on the structure but not to just come in and break the structure and go to the length of carrying their tools away,” he said.
