Accra, May 9, GNA – The Police have arrested suspects in connection with the murder of an Indian national, the Nasia Bridge highway robbery attack and an anti-narcotics operation at Madina Market.

The arrests form part of ongoing intelligence-led operations aimed at combating crime across the country.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Grace Ansah-Akrofi, Director-General, Police Public Affairs Directorate, announced this at a press briefing in Accra.

She said the Police had arrested three additional suspects in connection with the murder of Sain Devendra Kumar, an Indian national, who was found dead on April 26, 2026, with multiple stab wounds in the boot of his abandoned vehicle on the outskirts of Sabin Akrofuom in the Ashanti Region.

“Following days of sustained intelligence operations in Kumasi, on April 29 and 30, 2026 our intelligence teams arrested three suspects, namely: Osman Moro alias Thiago, aged 20, suspect Akum Kojo, Moro Sule alias Moro Aboboyaa, and John Adoko alias Carter.”

DCOP Ansah-Akrofi said the arrests brought the total number of persons in custody in connection with the case to four.

She said Akum admitted involvement in the murder and disclosed that on April 24, 2026, he went to the deceased’s workplace, where he disconnected and replaced the closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera server with the assistance of Sule.

The Police later retrieved the CCTV server from Daban New Site in Kumasi after Akum led investigators to the location.

DCOP Ansah-Akrofi said Akum also disclosed that he took possession of the deceased’s iPhone 17 Pro Max and Tecno mobile phones and later handed the iPhone to Moro at Kaase, while the Tecno mobile phone was given to Sule.

She said Police investigations led to the arrest of Moro at Kaase in Kumasi, where the deceased’s iPhone 17 Pro Max, wrapped in a brown envelope and fresh leaves, was retrieved from a hole dug in nearby bushes.

Investigators subsequently proceeded to Aprabong near Dompoase, a suburb of Kumasi, where Sule was arrested and the deceased’s Tecno mobile phone recovered.

DCOP Ansah-Akrofi said Adoko admitted driving the deceased’s vehicle to the location where it was abandoned.

“All the suspect are in custody and the exhibits recovered, including the CCTV server, the iPhone 17 Pro Max, and the Tecno mobile phone, have been retained for evidential purposes.”

She said efforts were underway to arrest two other suspects, identified as Zuzu Adrama, also known as Killer, and Vipul Jetpur Vijay, also known as Taruu, who had been linked to the case.
