It was rumored De Sá will be part of the four backroom staff Carlos Queiroz will bring to work for the Black Stars as they lead them to 2026 FIFA World Cup in the summer. Carlos Queiroz who is 73-years agreed on a short term contract and expected to rejuvenate the Black Stars for a better campaign in USA, Canada and Mexico.
Speaking in an interview with Kickoff, De Sá revealed he will depart to Ghana to join Carlos Queiroz as he officially gets unveiled to the media and answer questions on Thursday, April 23 2026.
“I will fly out on Thursday to Accra to start working straight away. It’s all it is, we will do the best we can, there is no mandate to win this and that.
“The job is to go to the World Cup and fly the Ghanaian flag as high as possible. I think when the previous coach left, the Ghana FA looked at Carlos Queiroz, and obviously it happened very quickly. Within four to five days, it was done,” Roger said.
The former Goalkeeper previously worked with Carlos Queiroz during his spell with Egypt, South Africa and Iran.
He will serve as assistant coach to Carlos Queiroz at the Black Stars with their work starting with immediate effect.
