God and People Prayer Parliament, a Benin-based socio-religious group, has proposed restructuring Nigeria into confederation republics as a solution to the country’s political, security, and economic issues.
Led by Dr. Dele Oluwatade, the group advocated for a shift from the current presidential system to seven (7) confederation republics, based on major ethnic and cultural groupings to promote autonomy and security.
The proposed seven Confederation Republics, according to Oluwatade, are, Hausa Republic of Nigeria,
Borno Republic of Nigeria, Kwararafa
Republic of Nigeria, Oduduwa Republic of Nigeria, Midwest Republic of Nigeria, Niger Delta Republic of Nigeria and Biafra Republic of Nigeria.
Oluwatade said the proposed Hausa Republic would be made up of the present Sokoto, Kastina, Zamfara, Jigawa, Kano , Kebbi and Kaduna States.
Borno Republic, comprises the present Yobe, Borno, Bauchi and Southern Gombe states while Kwararafa Republic comprised Niger State , FCT, Nassarawa , Plateau, Gombe, Adamawa and Benue States.
Others include: Oduduwa Republic, comprising, Lagos, Oyo , Kwara, Osun ,Ondo, Ekiti, Kogi and Lagos States. Midwest Republic to have Edo and Delta States. The Biafra Republic is to include Enugu, Abia, Anambra, Imo and Ebonyi States. While the Niger Delta Republic has Akwa- Ibom, Cross River, Bayalsa and Rivers States.
Oluwatade said the aim of this structure would be to promote peaceful coexistence, regional autonomy, and a decentralized security system that allows each region to address its unique challenges independently.
“We believe regional self-governance could provide the structure needed for meaningful development and national stability,” he also said.
Oluwatade said, “without God, for Nigeria, for those who love us, thank God for president Trump of the United States of America and then Prime Minister Natahyahu who are particularly very interested in Nigeria and many African states. Many African heads of state are also interested in Nigeria and many other countries all over the world who are working hard to see what they can do to remove the majority black people of Nigeria from the device group of the Fulani nation.
“The Fulani nation came to Nigeria the year 1804 and by about 200 years later, they have become the real landlords of Nigeria.
“And the black people are just there in their hands to do what they want to do with them but thank God the ties are changing.
“The American government and all have become very interested and they are holding plenary sessions after penalty sessions to see what they can do to restore the honor and emancipate the black people of Nigeria who are being robbed of all the God’s blessings that God has placed in Nigeria.
“We thank all of you for all the good you are doing to Nigeria. For Nigeria this time, I want to say, though, that it is expected that when an outsider comes to fight for your freedom, then you, the people in Nigeria, should do the political changes that are necessary to consolidate the freedom.
On the incessant terrorism going on in the country , Oluwatade said, “members of the armed forces bluntly told Nigerians to defend themselves, an indication that the battle is getting more than what the military can cope with. We quite agree with them. So, what the president should do now, is to divide us into confederation.
“All the stakeholders in Nigeria should be reconfigured into confederation units that can
now defend themselves. You cannot defend yourself in a presidential system.
“But when we are in a confederate system, the communities are now empowered to defend themselves. And that is what we are asking our President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu to do for us and the members of the national assembly should think of that”.
Oluwatade further declared, “This is not the time for political politics. Or party politics. This is the time to play politics with the people. To emancipate them and remove them and free them from the yoke of the terrorists .
Presently, the black man in Nigeria is one of the most oppressed and
discriminated against.”
While decrying the current Nigerian Presidential system, he said, “Nigeria copied the parliamentary and the presidential systems of government and adulterated them to
accommodate our greed, aggressive and oppressive imperial characters. The past and present political systems were copied from other countries without the essential stabilizers like secession and referendum clauses, and rules of engagement.
Therefore failed, and as such, the world cannot be watching us butcher ourselves with racial and religious genocides, banditry and political disenfranchisement of major stakeholders. We either settle
ourselves quickly or they will come to put us right.”
