The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana National Gas Company (Ghana Gas), Judith Adjobah Blay, has challenged women to move beyond symbolic participation and take practical, measurable actions towards the gender equality movement.

The CEO’s call aligns with the broader “Give to Gain” theme of International Women’s Day 2026 in Ghana, which focuses on achieving gender equality through reciprocity and collaboration.

Speaking during the Ghana Gas Ladies Launch as part of the celebrations during International Women’s Month 2026 under the theme “Give to Gain”, Ms. Blay who is the first female CEO of the company, emphasized the need for practical action in the fight for gender equality.

“As we celebrate today, let us see the theme not simply as a slogan, but as a call for a deeper, more practical commitment, to mentorship, to inclusion, and to building a workplace where all talented women have the opportunity to thrive.”

The Ghana Gas first female CEO also questioned the drive of women in Ghana to make gender equality a possibility.

“Once again, I would like to ask each of us, what will you give to achieve gender equality?  Let’s reflect a little bit. Let’s ask ourselves, because it’s no longer a slogan. We want to give to gain, gender equality shouldn’t remain a slogan, there has been too many slogans, no action.” She stated

She urged women to step into strategic roles within the energy sector to drive innovation and sustainable growth.
