Kenya Power has announced scheduled power interruptions on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, for a number of regions across the country.

The outages form part of essential network maintenance and upgrades aimed at improving the reliability of the electricity supply. Kenya Power has urged customers in affected areas to prepare in advance and make alternative arrangements where possible.

“The following areas are scheduled for planned power maintenance tomorrow, 11.03.2026,” Kenya Power posted on their social media accounts on Tuesday, March 10, 2026.

In Nairobi

In the Nairobi Region, two main zones will be offline during the day. In Parklands, power will be off from 9.00 am to 1.00 pm. Affected residents and businesses include those along Laxcon, Kongonis, St. Francis Church, Ojijo Road, Wambugu Road, Chiromo Road, Muthithi Road and adjacent customers.

Further south in Kilimani and Ngong Road, the planned outage will run from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm. This will affect consumers on part of Ngong Road, Muchai Drive, Coptic Hospital, China Centre, Kabernet Road, the School of Nursing, City Oil, National Oil, Uchumi, Ngong Road Hotel, Bishop Magua, part of Kindaruma, China City and neighbouring customers.

Machakos County

Outside Nairobi, several counties will experience longer power interruptions from 9.00 am until 5.00 pm. In Machakos County on Namanga Road, Kenya Power will cut electricity at Alliance Concrete and nearby customers.

In Kathiani, areas like Collage Road, Kwanthanza, Sweet Waters, Mumbuni, Mutituni, Mua, Kyasila, Muthwani, Scott University, Kusyomomo, Kavian, Nzaikoni, Kathiani, Ngoleni, Kauti, Mitaboni, Kenol, Masokani and adjoining communities will be affected.

North Rift

The North Rift Region is also on the list. In parts of Uasin Gishu County, customers in Kesses, Ketiplong, Ngecheck, Chorowet, Lelmokwo, Lelmolok, Kampnyamisa, Lelboinet, Ngeria Girls, Koros Secondary School, Tegut, Kapng’etuny, Ndupeneti and Belekenya will be without power.

In the Western Region, power will be off for long stretches across several counties. In Bungoma County, areas around the Nzoia Sugar Factory, Nzoia Sudi, Bukembe, Machinjoni and nearby customers will experience outages.

In Kakamega County, markets and surrounding communities such as Lutasao Market, Navakholoo Market, Chebuyusi Secondary, Khalanda Market, Ingotse Secondary, Lwahupa, Matoi Market, Buheri Waybridge, Malaha Market and adjacent customers will be hit.

Kisumu County will also face an extended blackout. Outages around Koru Market, Koru Mission Hospital, Kotetni, Kapkoros Factory and neighbouring customers will run from 8.00 am to 5.00 pm.

The Mt. Kenya Region is affected by power cuts in Nyeri County. Key areas including Rititi Market, Gatunganganga Market, Cheru Village, Kianjogu Village, Mahiga Springs, Kinguku, Ngaini Market, Rathithi Village, Kahira‑ini and other nearby customers will be without supply.

In the North Eastern Region (Kiambu County), a large section including St. Linda, Gatong’ora, Mutonya, Gwa Kairu, Riverside, Thome, Part of Bypass, Miti Kenda, Karuguru, Mashinani, Kiratina Village, Mutonya Dispensary, Kwa China, Sewage, Kwhota and Gituamba Water Project, will be off the grid.

This comes after Kenya Power issued a safety advisory to Kenyans amid heavy rainfall.
