The government of Kenya has already given a stern travel and safety warning to its people living and travelling in the Middle East as the tension between Iran and Israel continues to rise.
Speaking in a morning interview with a local TV station on Monday, March 2, 2026, Principal Secretary for Diaspora Affairs Roseline Njogu has advised Kenyans living in the Middle East countries to remain indoors as much as possible and to keep in touch with communication channels at Kenyan embassies around the globe and their official government channels to receive real-time updates as plans to keep them safe are underway, saying that the scenario is being monitored.
“For now, as we monitor, it is important to reiterate to Kenyans to shelter in place and listen to what your host country is advising… We are far from an evacuation scenario, but we have a plan in place if it comes to that, Foreign Affairs PS Roseline Njogu assures Kenyans.” Njogu said.

The advice from the PS follows military attacks by the United States and Israeli armies on strategic positions in Tehran, which provoked retaliatory measures in the Gulf region, leading to the fear of a larger war.
Government advisory
The government emphasized that the situation is dynamic and unstable. The advisory further advises the nationals to enrol themselves at the closest Kenyan embassy or consulate, provide updated contact details and next of kin, and maintain frequent contact with the family and the surrounding authorities. Citizens were also advised to make only essential movements, particularly at night or during such security alerts in their area, and not propagate or rely on unverified information that transpires on social media.

The government once again declared that its diaspora emergency support services are 24/7, and hotlines and consular contacts can be availed by distressed Kenyans.
This advisory comes after the interference with airspace, explosions, and interception of missiles in portions of the Gulf as the conflict escalated.
According to the officials, they are in constant contact with Kenyan diplomatic missions around the region, and the officials would still update them through the official government platform.
