A mobile telecommunications company, Cell C has announced an introduction of a new SME connectivity strategy which is targeted towards ensuring small and medium businesses across South Africa stay connected. This initiative which was unveiled in Johannesburg, South Africa, exhibits how important connectivity is now crucial for business success and resilience.

This new development was enhanced with the help of world’s leading marketing data and analytics company, Kantar, explaining the concerns with SMEs and highlighted the need for having a reliable network that is accessible and easy to use. This project is built to better the realities and growth obstacles that small businesses face in South Africa.

Chris Lazarus, Chief Officer: Sales, Regions and Customer Care, Cell C stated that;

“SMEs cannot afford downtime, not even for a moment. They told us they want reliability, simplicity and affordability. They want solutions that work every time, are simple to manage, and come with real human support. We’ve redesigned our entire SME offering around these priorities to mirror their realities and remove the barriers that slow growth.”

Having discovered that South Africa’s economy comprises primarily SMEs, yet many of them go through issues of downtime which affects capacity to function effectively, properly ensuring customer demand is met. Hence the creation of this development which is essential since connectivity is the foundation of sales, bookings, payments, delivery management, and employee coordination.

Cell C has grown its capacity reaching over 28,000 towers across the country, ensuring provision of a better signal and coverage to support the updated strategy. These developments will improve South Africa’s digital market and also help SMEs, especially companies that rely on ongoing connectivity for sales, customer reservations, payments, and delivery coordination.
