The Ministry of the Interior has officially extended the deadline for its Centralised E-Recruitment Portal Aptitude Test, specifically accommodating Category C applicants holding WAASCE certificates, after a technical bottleneck prevented a segment of candidates from submitting their examinations online.
In a public notice signed off by the Ministry, officials acknowledged that “challenges experienced by some applicants while attempting to submit their Aptitude Test Online” had necessitated an immediate intervention to preserve fairness in the high-stakes recruitment drive for 2025/26.
To rectify the situation, the Ministry has outlined a staggered mop-up exercise set to commence on Saturday, February 21, 2026.
The extension will run until the 28th of the same month, structured specifically around the various security services.
The revised schedule is as follows;
– Saturday, 21st – Monday, 23rd February 2026: Ghana Immigration Service (GIS)
– Tuesday, 24th – Wednesday, 25th February 2026: Ghana Police Service
– Thursday, 26th – Friday, 28th February 2026: Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) and Ghana Prisons Service
According to the notice, Immigration (GIS) candidates will have their rescheduled window from Saturday, February 21 through Monday, February 23.
Immediately following that, applicants to the Ghana Police Service are to log in between Tuesday, February 24 and Wednesday, February 25.
The window will close with a joint session for the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) and the Prisons Service, running from Thursday, February 26 to Saturday, February 28.
Furthermore, the Ministry has scheduled a broader window to catch any remaining stragglers. “A general mop-up for all categories (A to C) will follow between Sun, 1st – 2nd March 2026,” the statement confirmed, with the subsequent publication of successful results slated for 4th March 2026.
The notice stressed that communication regarding these new dates would be pushed directly to affected individuals. “All applicants are to note that SMSs will be sent to all affected persons to log into the portal and retake the test within the above scheduled dates,” it read. However, a firm line has been drawn to prevent system congestion: the vast majority—stated as 82% of applicants who have already successfully completed the test—will be barred from accessing the portal during this extension period and must wait until the official results release date.
In an additional move toward transparency, the Ministry has announced a live social media interaction to troubleshoot lingering concerns. The session, which will be steered by the technical facilitator, is scheduled for Sunday, February 22, 2026, at 8:30 PM across all major social media platforms.
Applicants have been advised to await further details on how to participate in what the Ministry describes as a forum to address “all issues related to the Aptitude Test and other concerns.”
