Media entrepreneur Dele Momodu has shared fresh details about efforts to resolve the long-running disagreement between his niece, Sophia Momodu, and music star Davido over the custody and welfare of their daughter, Imade Adeleke.
Naija News reports that he made this known during a visit to Liberia on February 19, 2026.
According to him, many fans in the country approached him and sent messages, asking him to step in and help bring peace between the former couple.
The appeals, he said, came from supporters of both Davido and Sophia who are worried about the ongoing tension.
Momodu explained that because of the repeated requests, he felt it was important to let people know that steps were already being taken privately to settle the matter.
The publisher said discussions are happening behind closed doors and expressed hope that the issue would be resolved in a calm and peaceful way.
He also asked those concerned to keep praying for everyone involved.
Momodu wrote on his Instagram page: “Here in Liberia, @davido is treated as the god of music. I’ve been visiting here for over two decades but this visit is different. I came to commiserate with my friend and Sister, former Vice President H.E DR JEWEL HOWARD-TAYLOR on the passing of her only child, CHARLES PHILIP NEILSON TAYLOR JR.
“Since landing here, I have been inundated with messages from fans of David, and ladies who love @thesophiamomodu to bits… One of them is this “fashion designer” @lorine.doe who said I should step in and settle the “quarrels.
“My dear Sister, thanks so much. Nothing to worry about. Everything is going to be alright 👍… We are working behind the scenes. Pls, keep everyone in your prayers…”
The dispute between Davido and Sophia has been in the public eye for some time.
It previously led to a legal battle over Imade’s custody. However, Davido later withdrew the case.
The singer had earlier shared that he decided to discontinue the court process after his late son was brought into the matter, which he found deeply upsetting.
He maintained that he loves his daughter and believes she will one day understand his efforts.
