Several women affected by the ongoing intimate-content scandal involving a foreign national have formally lodged complaints with the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), as authorities move to trigger international enforcement processes.

The development was shared by the Minister of Communication and Ningo-Prampram MP, Samuel Nartey George, on February 18, 2026.

Providing an update at a press briefing in Accra, the lawmaker said the complaints are being processed by the CID in collaboration with relevant state agencies, with steps underway to secure an international arrest warrant.

“A number of the ladies have formally filed complaints that are being processed by the CID, and CID is working with us to escalate this to INTERPOL to issue an international arrest warrant for the gentleman,” he said.

According to him, authorities are pursuing multiple legal avenues simultaneously to ensure accountability, even if the suspect remains outside Ghana’s jurisdiction.

“We are leaving no stone unturned. We are also preparing, through the Cyber Security Authority, to present a docket through the Ghana Police Service and the Office of the Attorney-General for prosecution in absentia in our courts,” he added.

He stressed that the matter extends beyond public commentary and will be pursued through the full legal process.

“This is not a matter that is just for this press conference. We’ll pursue this matter to its logical legal conclusion,” he said.

The MP further clarified that government officials have confirmed the identity of the individual at the centre of the allegations through diplomatic engagement.

“For the avoidance of doubt, we want to state for emphasis that the ministry, the two ministries, know who the individual is. In our meeting with the ambassador, his identity was established,” he added.

The development comes after earlier disclosures that some women whose images were circulated online had no intimate relationship with the suspect, heightening calls for empathy and legal redress.
