“The Ambassador highlighted similar activities of the said individual in other countries, which had come to the attention of Russian authorities and are being investigated by Russian experts,” a portion of the statement read.

The summons, undertaken on the instructions of Minister Ablakwa, formally conveyed Ghana’s protest and sought Russia’s cooperation in pursuing justice.

According to the Ministry, the Russian Ambassador acknowledged “the violation of the privacy and dignity of the victims” and recognised the broader cybercrime implications of the incident.

Authorities reportedly questioned the authenticity of the name circulating in the media, stating it does not correspond to a known Russian name and may constitute “an inappropriate or vulgar expression” in the Russian language.

“The Russian Ambassador, however, indicated that he is unable to confirm the Russian nationality of the individual at the center of the intimate viral videos, and further disclosed that the purported name making the rounds in the media is not a known Russian name but rather represents an inappropriate or vulgar expression in the Russian language,” the statement added.
