The Taraba Area of the Bible Society of Nigeria (BSN) has presented an award to the Chief Judge of Taraba State, Joel Filibus Agya, in recognition of his contributions to the society.

The award was presented on Saturday at the Society’s 60th Founder’s Day celebration, fundraising and award presentation ceremony held in Jalingo.

Other awardees included David Jimkuta, David Sabo Kente and Clara Kataps, among others.

Presenting the awards, Chairperson of the BSN Taraba Area, Flister Musa, said the honours were in recognition of the recipients’ contributions and commitment to the mission of the Society.

She stated that the event was organized not only to celebrate the legacy of the founders but also to reaffirm the organization’s mandate of making the Bible accessible to all and impacting lives through God’s message.

In his remarks, Justice Agya described the occasion as a celebration of faith, hope and commitment to the moral and spiritual development of the nation.

Represented by Hon. Useni Galadima, Secretary of the Judicial Service Commission, the Chief Judge said the Bible Society had remained steadfast in its mission of translating, producing, and distributing the Holy Scriptures in languages accessible to the people.

He noted that the Bible continues to provide guidance and hope, particularly at a time when society faces moral and social challenges, adding that supporting the mission of the Society was an investment in the nation’s spiritual and ethical foundation.

Justice Agya commended the leadership and members of the BSN in Taraba State for their dedication and consistency in advancing the organization’s objectives.

Earlier, Chairman of the occasion, Chief David Kente, represented by Mrs Mercy Musa, said his support for the Society was driven by a desire to promote the gospel across borders. He also commended the Taraba leadership of the Society for its commitment to spreading the gospel within and beyond the state.
