Qatar Charity achieved a series of notable humanitarian and development accomplishments in Kenya during 2025, despite ongoing challenges facing the country such as refugee crises, drought, and high poverty rates. The total number of beneficiaries from its various interventions reached around 500,000 vulnerable individuals within Kenyan communities.

Alignment with Kenya Vision 2030

All of Qatar Charity’s interventions in Kenya are aligned with Kenya Vision 2030, contributing to sustainable development and supporting vital programmes that address community needs across multiple sectors.

Expansion of sponsorship programmes

Qatar Charity operates the largest sponsorship programme in Kenya in terms of beneficiary numbers, addressing the needs of vulnerable groups and working to ease their social and economic burdens while ensuring a dignified life. By the end of 2025, the organisation had registered 8,430 sponsorship cases across various categories, including orphans, persons with disabilities, teachers, students, and low-income families with orphans representing the largest share.

Seasonal programmes

A wide range of charitable initiatives were carried out during Ramadan and Eid al-Adha, such as distributing Eid clothing, food parcels, and sacrificial meat. The seasonal programme reached 71,356 beneficiaries.

Responding to drought and floods

Qatar Charity continued to implement emergency humanitarian projects to mitigate the effects of drought and floods, supporting 1,670 affected families with urgent food and relief assistance.

Health interventions

In cooperation with Kenya’s Ministry of Health, Qatar Charity conducted health campaigns that benefited 2,000 uninsured families, in addition to distributing 200 blood pressure monitors to patients in need.

Economic empowerment

To help address Kenya’s economic challenges, the organisation launched economic recovery initiatives that included projects such as livestock rearing, tailoring, shop establishment, straw mills, handcarts, farming, motorbikes, and tuk-tuks. More than 1,000 individuals benefited from these initiatives, enabling them to achieve self-reliance and improve their resilience.

Water and sanitation

Water and sanitation represent one of the most critical humanitarian sectors in Kenya, especially due to recurring drought. Qatar Charity implemented 65 water and sanitation projects, benefiting 180,000 people and ensuring safe and sustainable access to clean water while reducing waterborne disease risk.
