Epstein Alleged Trafficking Network Links Kenya And Tanzania

Newly released US government files on Jeffrey Epstein reference Kenya and Tanzania in connection with his alleged child trafficking network, highlighting the international scope of his operations.

Epstein, a billionaire financier, was first convicted in 2008 of procuring minors for sex and served 13 months in prison on prostitution charges.

He was arrested again in 2019 on federal sex trafficking charges but died in a New York jail later that year.

Kenya and Tanzania in Epstein Files

The documents identify Kenya and Somalia as locations flagged for paedophile activity, while Tanzania and Senegal were noted as transit points.

Coastal towns such as Malindi in Kenya were cited as areas frequented by individuals involved in the network.

Files suggest Epstein had close ties with prominent Kenyan figures, including a former president.

One email from 9 April 2013 shows a Kenyan businessman writing to Epstein:
“I am in Nairobi for the inauguration of Uhuru Kenyatta as president of Kenya, whom I know very well.” Epstein replied three hours later, asking: “Any plans for NY?”

Travel and Coordination of Young Women

The files reveal Epstein coordinated trips to Kenya involving young women, some described as “finally turning legal.”

A December 2010 email exchange shows Epstein asking an associate, Irina, “Anyone new for tonight?” When she mentioned two individuals, Epstein responded: “Kenya.”

Earlier correspondence with American publicist Peggy Siegel documented planning for 2009 trips. In December 2009, Siegal joked to Epstein:

“If the Maasai warriors don’t eat us, the pirates from Somalia will,” calling the experience “yet another life experience.”

Between April and June 2009, emails show discussions of transporting two girls to Kenya, with Epstein pledging $13,000 per girl for a “safari and internship.”

Tanzania and Regional Transit Points

Tanzania is primarily mentioned as a transit hub, with luxury locations such as Mnemba Island visited by members of Epstein’s circle.

Children from Ethiopia, South Sudan, Sudan, Somalia, and other parts of Eastern Africa were reportedly trafficked through Mombasa.

The documents indicate Epstein’s estate was planning a film studio in Somaliland and a commercial bank in Somalia.

Experts caution that references to these countries do not constitute evidence of wrongdoing by government officials or institutions.

The files reference multiple public figures, including journalists, politicians, and business leaders, but contain no documented proof of criminal involvement.

The US Department of Justice released over 3.5 million pages under the Epstein Files Transparency Act, providing unprecedented insight into the alleged international trafficking network

Additionally, the files note that some NGOs and modelling agencies in Africa facilitated or assisted Epstein’s activities.

Epstein was arrested on 6 July 2019 and allegedly committed suicide on 10 August 2019, leaving ongoing investigations into his network.
