Ghanaian forward, Bernard Tekpetey was reportedly subjected to racist abuse from sections of the Levski Sofia supporters during Ludogorets Razgrad’s 1–0 victory in Tuesday’s, February 3, 2026, Bulgarian Super Cup final.

Tekpetey, who came off the bench in the 69th minute, made an instant impact by scoring the decisive goal just a minute later.

The 27-year-old rose highest in the box to power home a header from a well-delivered cross, sealing Ludogorets’ victory.

However, videos circulating show the celebrations were overshadowed by disturbing scenes where some Levski Sofia fans allegedly directed racist insults at the Ghana international, including calling him a “monkey.”

The incident has sparked outrage, with many condemning the abuse and calling for stronger measures to combat racism in football.

Tekpetey’s goal proved the difference in what was otherwise a tightly contested encounter. Ludogorets dominated possession for long spells but struggled to break down a resolute Levski defence until the Ghanaian’s clinical intervention.

His strike not only secured the silverware but also highlighted his importance to the team in crucial moments.
