Allan Saint-Maximin has sensationally left Club América just six months after arriving in Mexico, citing racist abuse directed at his children as the reason for his abrupt departure.

The French winger, who joined the Liga MX giants at the start of the 2025/26 season, amid huge excitement, confirmed his decision in an Instagram statement that has since gone viral.

According to Saint-Maximin, attacks aimed at his family were the final straw.

“The problem isn’t skin color, it’s the color of people’s thoughts. When people attack me, it’s not an issue. I’ve learned to fight against attacks, whether they’re hidden, subtle, or direct. But there is one thing I will never tolerate anyone coming after my children,” he posted.

The former Newcastle United star made it clear that while he has developed thick skin over the years, he will not allow his children to endure racism or discrimination.

“Protecting my children is my priority, and I will fight with all my strength so that they are respected and loved, no matter their origins or the color of their skin. Hatred and discrimination have no place in our society,” he added.

In a defiant closing message, Saint-Maximin warned those responsible.

“You made a mistake. I will always fight to protect my family. The only one I fear on this earth is God,” he said.

The former Newcastle and Monaco forward has three goals and two assists in sixteen league games this season.
