Former Minister of Roads and Member of Parliament for Bantama, Francis Asenso Boakye Former Minister of Roads and Member of Parliament for Bantama, Francis Asenso Boakye

Former Minister of Roads and Member of Parliament for Bantama, Francis Asenso Boakye has revealed what he believes will be the standard which delegates of the NPP will use to elect the party’s 2028 Flagbearer on Saturday.

Speaking to members and delegates of the NPP in Bantama last night, the MP said Saturday’s presidential primary is a crucial one which will elect a leader member of the party and Ghanaians will respect.

“This Saturday’s election is about choosing a leader for the party who is decent, humble and has respect for all. We are electing a leader who has the vision to create a million job with one idea,” he said on January 26, 2026.

“We are not going to select the richest man in Ghana. If we were electing the richest man in Ghana, none of those on the ballot will qualify.”

“That is why in America, Elon Musk is not the President. That is why Bill Gate is not the President of America and Warren Buffet is not President of America. They give it to politicians with the vision to bring all together.”

“In Nigeria, Danogote and Tony Elumelo are not those running for presidents. So, if someone comes here and says they have several houses, that is not our concern. It is not everyone who can be Preaident.”

“We need a President with emotional intelligence not a President who will speak anyhow and react unintelligently to any gossip.”

“Dr Bawumia has the emotional intelligence to lead this country. So come Saturday, let’s do it beautifully for Dr Bawumia as you did for me,” he urged his constituents.

“God has something beautiful for Ghana through Dr. Bawumia so let’s all rally behind him.”
