Samuel Kwame Adomako, a prominent cybersecurity and data expert, has expressed optimism about the government’s anti-scam efforts, citing recent successes in the fight against cybercrime.

According to him, the government’s collaborative approach with agencies such as the Cyber Security Authority (CSA) and the Ghana Police Service has resulted in significant arrests and seizures, disrupting organised cybercrime networks.

Adomako commended the Minister of Communications, Samuel Nartey George, for his efforts to curb fraudulent activities across the country.

He emphasised that cybersecurity should be treated as a standalone entity within Ghana’s digital governance framework.

“It’s clear that scam cases have reduced, and I would like to acknowledge the Minister’s efforts. The measures put in place are making a difference. His timely actions are truly commendable, and we are beginning to see the impact,” he said in a recent interview.

He welcomed the recent arrests of suspected scammers by security agencies, describing them as a step in the right direction.

Adomako also lauded the collaboration between the security agencies and the minister, noting that such cooperation is crucial in protecting Ghanaians from cybercrime and cyberbullying.

“This shows that we are on the right track, and I am pleased with the teamwork between the security agencies and the Minister to eradicate this scamming menace,” he stated.

He further alleged that some public figures are behind these criminal activities, stressing that it is high time those individuals were brought to book.

Adomako warned Ghanaians to remain vigilant, cautioning that fraudsters are developing new scam tactics in 2026.

He urged corporate organisations and individuals to invest in robust cybersecurity systems to safeguard their operations from cyberattacks and digital threats.

“Ghanaians should open their eyes very well, because these people are coming with new methods to scam them,” he cautioned.

He also called on Ghana’s telecommunications companies to work closely with the Minister, security agencies, and other stakeholders to develop effective strategies to combat scams.

“Telcos should collaborate with us to fight this menace,” he added.
