Following the arrest of controversial prophet Fire Oja over defamatory statements made against acclaimed singer Mzbel, new details have emerged.

GhanaWeb earlier reported that Prophet Fire Oja was arrested by the Ghana Police Service after making defamatory comments about Mzbel.

In his statement, Prophet Fire Oja alleged that Mzbel was seriously ill and had been admitted to a hospital at Kasoa.

According to Fire Oja, after Mzbel recovered from her illness, she allegedly engaged in soul travel, urging fans of the musician to be cautious and refrain from supporting her.

Police arrest Prophet Fire Oja

“Mzbel was seriously ill, and she was taken to a hospital in Kasoa. It was God who saved her. But she has come online to say that she went to do soul travel. Be very careful if you are following her. If you are following such a public figure, be careful because she can lead you to the wrong place,” Prophet Fire Oja stated.

But in a recent development, videos circulating on social media on January 6, 2025, showed singer Mzbel disclosing that the controversial prophet has pleaded guilty and has also apologised for his statement.

“Fire Oja was in police custody following the allegations he made against me. He was supposed to be in custody for 48 hours, but I was called by the police after I had left the Police CID Headquarters, and they told me that he had pleaded guilty to all the charges and had also apologised,” she said.

Mzbel further noted that Prophet Fire Oja has been granted bail after pleading guilty; however, he will be arraigned before a court in the coming days.

“There was no reason to hold him for that long at the Police Headquarters. He was in police custody for 48 hours only to assist with investigations; however, he was granted bail after pleading guilty,” she added.
