Tone down on your tantrums! – NPP executive tells Kennedy Agyapong –

In a bid to preserve his influential political legacy, the National Youth Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mustapha Salam, has advised the outspoken Assin Central Member of Parliament (MP), Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, to suppress his frequent outbursts about the party.

Mustapha Salam emphasized the need for Agyapong to reflect his role model status within the party, urging him to conduct himself in a manner befitting the positive political career he has built over the years.

Expressing admiration for Agyapong, Mustapha Salam conveyed his plea in a local dialect.

He said “Kennedy Agyapong is someone I really like a lot, and I would like to plead with him to tone down on his rage. He has a lot of admirers in the party and a lot of people who look up to him and the legacy he has built in the party. I don’t think that anything should wash it away. I want to once again reiterate that he should tone down his tantrums.”

The controversial Ghanaian politician Kennedy Agyapong was captured in a viral video charging delegates in Bantama to reject their current Member of Parliament Francis Asenso Boakye, during the New Patriotic Party (NPP) primaries.

Amid wild allegations, Agyapong who is captured in a viral video revealed how the sitting MP engaged in dodgy dealings while serving as a deputy chief of staff at the Jubilee House, the seat of government.

“… [In fact] I was referring to Asenso when I cautioned elements at the Jubilee House to stop embarrassing the president with their bribery spree…You should be ashamed of yourself to go and vote for a corrupt MP like Asenso again”, he said.

“I am ready to drop more revelations. If you don’t want me to talk, vote against him”, Agyapong warned as he campaigned for his brother ahead of the party’s internal election.

The comments by Agyapong highlight the ongoing internal dynamics and debates within the NPP, adding a layer of controversy to the internal elections.

The primary is slated for 27 January 2024. It is the last internal election as the party gears up for the 2024 general elections.
