The Ghana Police Service (GPS) under the leadership of the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Dr. George Akuffo Dampare have been working assiduously to protect Ghanaians from criminals. The Police’s focus has also been on the welfare and wellbeing of its personnel who in many ways assist in clamping down on dangerous people in the society.

The Police became extra vigilant and made it their prime objective to chase the criminals who shot and killed two of their own in the Upper East Region few days ago. Reports from the Police administration indicate that one of the suspects who were involved in the murder of the two Police officers at Zuarungu in the Upper East Region of Ghana have been gunned down.

The suspect whose name was given as Laayaame Simon (aged 34) was shot by the Police at Kpatia after an intelligence-led operation was carried out by a special Anti-Robbery squad who were assisted by the Upper East Region Police Command. According to the Police, they are still carrying out investigations to arrest the remaining suspects involved in the murder of the two Police officers.
