Former President John Dramani Mahama has denied reports circulating on social media that he has commented on the issues involving Reverend Isaac Owusu Bempah, Founder and Leader of the Glorious Word Power Ministries.
A statement by Mr Mahama’s aide, James Agyenim Boateng said the reports claiming the presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2020 elections has commented on the matter are fake and should be ignored.
“Former President John Dramani Mahama has not made any pronouncement on the arrest of Rev. Owusu-Bempah.
“Ignore the fake news,” Mr Agyenim Boateng revealed in a tweet on Thursday September 16.
Rev Owusu Bempah was granted a GHS200,000 on health ground with two sureties on Tuesday September 15.
He was arrested for allegedly storming the home of converted fetish priestess Nana Agradaa.
He was reportedly picked up at his home Sunday evening.
In a video gone viral, the preacher was seen with men, some of whom wielded guns, at the home of Agradaa threatening her to step out of her room if she was brave enough.
Even though it is not immediately clear the motivation for his action, some sources say, the pastor and his men went to the home of the converted fetish priestess after she dared him to come near her for a lesson.
His men reportedly attacked the Police officers who had gone there to effect his arrest.
