Renowned singer 2Baba has added his voice to the rising call for comprehensive reforms in Nigeria’s education sector.
In an Instagram post on Thursday, the African Queen crooner stated that the entire Nigerian education system requires a complete overhaul.
“We need to change our entire education system in Nigeria. Alkebulan/Africa #unwashthebrainwash,” he wrote.

Although the 49-year-old singer did not provide detailed reasons for his comment, his statement aligns with ongoing debates over the deteriorating performance of students in national exams across the country.
The demand for change comes in the wake of the recently released 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) results, which revealed that 1.5 million out of 1,955,059 candidates scored below 200 — representing a startling 75% failure rate.
The poor performance has sparked renewed debates about the state of Nigeria’s education system, prompting widespread calls for immediate and comprehensive intervention.
2Baba has remained in the public eye since announcing his separation from his wife, Annie Idibia, in January.
The singer also acknowledged his relationship with Natasha Osawaru, a lawmaker from Edo State.
In February, he proposed to Osawaru, emphasizing that their relationship had no connection to his split from Annie.
The lawmaker recently updated her Instagram bio to reflect the singer’s surname.
