Some gunmen, suspected to be kidnappers have abducted a yet to be identified man, who was said to be returning from taking his kids to school.
The incident which happened on Friday around Okpuno area of Anambra State, caused panic as the men shot indiscriminately into the air before fleeing the scene with their victim.
It was gathered that passersby ran for safety to avoid being caught up in the shooting.

Speaking over the the incident on Saturday, Spokesman for Anambra State Police Command, Tochukwu Ikenga, in a statement, disclosed that security operatives have been mobilized to apprehend the armed hoodlums involved and also rescue the victim.

He said: “The abduction of an unsuspecting member of the public in the early hours of today, 27th June 2025 at Awka as captured in a trending video is unfortunate .
“The three armed men operating in a stainless colored Highlander without a plate number shot indiscriminately and abducted the victim.
“The command has assured that its operatives shall leave no stone unturned in making sure that the victim is rescued alive.”
