If Nigeria Was Working, A First Class Graduate Won’t Be Sweeping The Streets For A Living -Fr. Mbaka

Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka, spiritual leader of the Adoration Ministry in Enugu, Nigeria, said this during the Friday vigil of the Night of Open Doors for Adoration: “A First Class Graduate should not have to resort to sweeping the street to make ends meet.”

He questions the viability of such careers for college alums when contrasted to countries where they have more options. The priest from the Catholic Church requests that the young people of Nigeria be rescued from their current situation.

The translated version of what he stated in Igbo is as follows: “If Nigeria was working, a Graduate won’t be wearing uniform to clean the street. Is that something a recent college grad should apply for? In other countries, they would be millionaires, but in America, they’d be a street cleaner. The kids are in jail and they have to be let out.

Do you agree with the Reverend Fr. Ejike Mbaka’s assessment?
