With respect to the office of Senate Presidency under the President Tinubu led administration, Alhaji Ndume Ali, the lawmaker representing Borno South Senatorial District has revealed that he stepped down for Former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Chief Godswill Akpabio due to his desire for fairness amongst other factors.
He made this known during a television programme held on CHANNELS TELEVISION of recent while noting that he also had to support the political ambition of Akpabio owing to the President’s interest.
Ndume said: ” There are so many things that contributed to my reason to stand for Akpabio. Firstly, the President had interest in Akpabio as his preferred candidate and secondly, he had the confidence of asking me to lead the campaign. Most importantly, it is about justice, equity, about the constitution and doing what is right and standing for what is right for this country “.
