Popular Nigerian artiste, Omawumi, has taken to her Instagram to flaunt her body in a new photo she posted. The singer captioned the photo with some words that seem to be a campaign for body positivity.
She said in her caption that every stretch mark has a story, and every cellulite is important.
“Every stretch mark has a story.
Every cellulite is important.
Everything has shaped me into this fearless, gorgeous woman that God perfectly made!” She wrote.
The singer seemed to be using that as an avenue to tell people not to be ashamed of their body.
A lot of people who have things like stretch marks and other things they consider imperfect about their body are usually scared to let it out.
Omawumi’s caption was made to encourage body positivity, that is, a social movement focused on the acceptance of all bodies, regardless of size, shape, skin tone, , and physical abilities.
Let’s hope that with this, a lot of people start getting confident with their body and people stop body-shamming one another.
