Kalonzo has been a senior figure in the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition, which brings together several opposition leaders, including ODM leader Raila Odinga. The coalition was formed to unite the opposition against Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza administration and present a strong challenge in the next general election. Kalonzo has been viewed as a potential presidential candidate, especially if Raila Odinga chooses to retire from active politics.

However, recent developments have raised concerns within Azimio. Kalonzo’s public statements have become less confrontational, and he has been notably silent on key issues, including the controversial Finance Bill and the ongoing national dialogue.
