The footage, which quickly went viral on social media, shows several students, still in their school uniforms, perilously clinging to the door of a packed matatu as it hurtles down a busy road.

The clip has ignited a firestorm of criticism, with many Kenyans condemning the students’ reckless behaviour and the driver’s negligence.

The Kenya Police Welfare weighed in on the matter, tagging the traffic department and the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) in a stern message.

“To the traffic department: Arrest and charge. NTSA Kenya. And if this is your daughter, teach her discipline,” the organization tweeted.

Concerned citizens took to social media to express their frustration, calling for immediate action from the authorities.
